We’re only as good as our people

Guidance on hiring a team you can trust:

One of the most common complaints I hear in the recruitment world is:

“We just cannot seem to find the right talent. Sure we can post a job listing and bring in hundreds of possible candidates, but it’s still like finding a needle in a haystack.”

And I hear you!

Back when I was still doing private coaching for corporates and CEO’s this was one of their most frustrating pain points that they’d bring to me. It’s really the reason why Wamly exists today – because I realised that there was a piece of the puzzle missing when it came to the hiring process.

Companies run because of people. People are the most valuable piece of the puzzle in any business, and so it should make sense that we place high value on the process that we are using to find and retain these people.

So where are all these elusive talented people hiding?

Good question! The more value we place on the hiring process, the more valuable people we will attract.

The types of questions you’re asking when setting up your one-way video interview should deeply reflect your company values, mission and vision for the future – because if you ask the right questions, you’ll be able to draw out the right answers from the right people.

It will make watching your one-way video interviews a lot more interesting, and it will definitely help you find the people that are more aligned with your company culture, than if you were to just ask the standard run-of-the-mill interview questions and perhaps miss that needle in the haystack.

So I’d like to challenge you today, instead of asking; “where are all the talented people hiding?”… Let’s change that narrative to;

“How can I ask better interview questions in my one-way video interview that will allow my candidates to bring their best selves to the table?”

Sending you all the good energy to find those talented people!
